ORIGINAL MUSIC POUCHES

My research has so far has revealed that leather music pouches were widely used as early as the 1850's, and possibly earlier, as well as into the 1940's. If you know of information that supports this, or expands on these dates, please contact me at Eric@HornCollector.com.


I'm also seeking information on other Music Pouches known, besides the 9 known music pouches listed below.

GLEN FALLS CORNET BAND MUSIC POUCH (1860's?) (Totman Collection). The Glen Falls Cornet Band was in existence from 1860-mid 1890's.  


FRENCH MUSIC POUCH (1850's?) (Totman Collection). These music pouches were made in France, yet sold in the USA. Note the Ophicleides in the emblem. 

FRENCH MUSIC POUCH (1860's?) (Foreman collection). These music pouches were made in France, yet sold in the USA. Note the Ophicleides in the emblem. 

FRENCH "FULL SHEET" MUSIC POUCH (1870'S?) (Totman collection). These music pouches were made in France, yet sold in the USA. Note the Ophicleides in the emblem.
